How We Ensure Quality
Engineering
CEC’s engineering team—experts in electrical, thermal, mechanical, and materials disciplines—delivers innovative, high-precision furnace solutions tailored to our customers’ needs. CEC engineers use highly sophisticated and flexible engineering software. The software allows customer requirements to be theoretically modeled into machine configurations quickly. Our 65+ years of experience as a company and hundreds of years of individual design and application engineering allow the theoretical to be made practical.
Our 3D modeling software allows our customers to see our furnace design at full scale from the first proposal. Using geometry generated in our 3D design software, engineers apply Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure each design exceeds thermal, structural, and performance requirements. 3D modeling also eliminates guesswork and misfits, and ensures more accurate communication between engineers and fabricators.
CEC designs and manufactures many of its own fans, thoroughly testing each design to ensure reliable performance.
Project Management
Each project at CEC is handled by a professional and trained project engineer to ensure the overall success of each installation. Each project is assigned to a Project Manager (PM) who has responsibility for the machine from order placement to installation. Each PM is supported by a qualified team of engineers and field service technicians that are devoted to the overall project quality, timeliness and customer satisfaction. The project manager goes with the project until full customer acceptance and completion of warranty. This project based business process has been proven worldwide over several continents with many installations in Germany, Canada, China, and the US.
Manufacturing
Much of the heat processing equipment is manufactured at CEC’s 135,000 square-foot, ultra-modern manufacturing facility located 30 miles north of Atlanta, GA. This world-class facility is fully equipped with 10-ton bridge cranes, high bay fabrication areas, and CNC metal fabricating machinery.
At CEC, we take pride in the heavy equipment built by our skilled welders, electricians, millwrights, and fabricators. Their expertise and craftsmanship form the foundation of our manufacturing success and keep customers returning to our proven designs year after year.
To offer cost-effective solutions without compromising quality, CEC partners with trusted manufacturing sources, both domestic and international, following strict engineering specifications. CEC-trained personnel oversee production and perform on-site quality checks to ensure all components meet our exacting standards
Installation
CEC field technicians, field supervisors, and Engineers provide installation, training, and start-up procedures to ensure the safe and proper operation of CEC equipment. CEC also provides its own field services and spare parts departments to keep downtime to a minimum. Installation quality and timeliness is a great strength of CEC. Each customer need is defined with a specification and scope provided by CEC or the customer. The specification gives guidance for creating a Team framework for assurance for project success. The customer is guided by our experienced staff to optimize budget, timeliness, quality, and local need.
In-Plant Testing
CEC offers a substantial advantage to its customers with in-plant pre-testing to ensure proper operation of its equipment. CEC can fully assemble, wire, pipe and pre-test equipment prior to departure from our plant if physical conditions allow. This helps confirm proper machine operation, quality, and minimizes field start-up problems. Larger systems or equipment requiring product testing prior to shipment can usually be pre-tested for an additional fee.
